The conference "US/Cuba 2000" will be held the 4th, 5th, and 6th in Seattle, Washington.

100 rooms have been reserved at the Westin Hotel and the cost is $129.00 per room with 4 people to a room if you desire.

The location of the conference will be at Seattle Center, Pavillion A, 305 Harrison St., Seattle, Wa. 98109.

Cuba Solidarity Movement Demonstration on

Friday December 3, 1999

The objectives of the Conference are to reach organizers and activists of the Cuba solidarity work, new delegations who have visited Cuba recently and new people through education and information.

Issues of the conference: * Second World meeting on solidarity with Cuba, (U.S. blockade) * Economic development of Cuban society, (information, and exchange) * Bilateral, U.S./Cuba relations Future possibility of new exchange between U.S. and Cuba through different sectors of society: Labor, Culture, Economy, Youth, Democracy, Women, Sports, Religion Education, Health, Sustainable Development.

We would also like suggestions for participants from the United States: Baldemar Velasquez, President of the Farm Labor Organizing Committee and Bill Lucy, Director of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, Maxine Waters, Patricia Ireland, Alice Walker, Harry Belafonte, Randall Robinson, Director of TransAfrica, Lucius Walker, Director of IFCO, Pastors for Peace, Juan Jose Gutierrez, Director of One Stop Immigration Center, Dennis Bank, Mayor of Baltimore, Emmy Dean, AFL-CIO, California, Peter Angeles, President of the Baltimore Orioles, Jay Higginbothan, Society, Mobile-Havana, Singing with the Enemy and Lydia Velasquez, Congresswoman, New York, are some already made.

The committee will start working on a draft for the invitation letter to the Cubans. We will also create another letter, which will go to the State Department, insisting on their cooperation with visas. Prominent artists, congress people, etc. will sign this letter.

A fund raising letter asking for $ 100 from each NNOC member organization will be mailed in the near future. We will also be asking each organization to try to bring at least 10 people.

The registration fee for the Conference will be $40.

A flier with the name, dates, place and general information will be made and a brochure will be produced with all the details when we have them.
